Bookings and Cancellations
- Bookings can be made on our website up to 30 minutes prior to the reservation time. (Sorry, we cannot take requests for specific vehicle brand, or color.)
- Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your booking for orientation to your vehicle and the ORV trail system. See Late Return policy under Extra Charges below.
- Cancel a reservation up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund. Please call 906-430-8448 to cancel.
- No refunds for cancellations less than 24 hours in advance.
- Weather: Rentals run rain or shine! All side-by-sides have a roof. They do not have windshields.
- Partial refunds will not be granted for early return of vehicle.
- Damage deposit/hold: At the time of rental, a $1000 hold will be placed on your credit card for damages that are incurred during your rental. Note: The $1000 will not be charged to your credit card, and the hold will be released once the vehicle is cleaned and inspected for damage. (Most debit cards do not allow holds. Please be sure to bring a valid credit card.)
- Rental Agreement: Renters and riders will be required to sign a Reservation and Rental Agreement prior to the start of the rental period. (A copy of the agreement can be found a the bottom of this page.)
Rider Requirements
- Age: Must be 18 years old to rent and drive a side-by-side. Drivers must present license at time of rental.
- Height requirement: Riders must be 8 years old, or 57" tall. (We follow Michigan seatbelt law. Sorry, no car seats or boosters are allowed in the side-by-sides.)
- Seatbelts: Michigan ORV Laws require the use of seatbelts while riding in the side-by-side. Machines may feel compact to larger riders. Michigan ORV Laws require that riders must wear a helmet, if unable to wear a seatbelt.
- Eye Protection: Side-by-sides do not have windshields. Michigan ORV Law requires eye protection (sunglasses qualify).
- NO PETS
- Alcohol and Marijuana PROHIBITED while driving the side-by-side.
- Health issues: Drummond Island trails can be very rugged and uncomfortable for persons with injuries or health concerns.
- Driving off-trail, on private property, or on beaches is prohibited. See Michigan ORV Laws for additional safe use guidelines.
What should I bring with me on my trip?
- Eye Protection: Side-by-sides do not have windshields. Michigan ORV Law requires eye protection (sunglasses qualify).
- Water and snacks.
- Bug spray and sunscreen.
- Binoculars, camera, GPS.
- Clothing: layers, rain gear, clothes that can get muddy! (Rentals run rain or shine!).
- Small cooler or waterproof bag (Alcohol and marijuana are prohibited).
- Anything else you might need for the trip. Don't forget to stop by Drummond Island Country Store on your way to the trailhead!
- Cell phone service is very spotty throughout Drummond Island.
- A paper map of trails will be provided with your rental. The onX GPS Map app (iPhone, Android) will also display Drummond Island ORV trails without cell phone signal.
Extra Charges and Special Rates
- LATE RETURN: Riders returning more than 15 minutes after return time will incur a $120/hour late fee. (Late fees will be charged at $30 per fifteen minutes over scheduled time.)
- Excessive Mud: Muddy is expected! But if you plug the radiators, or we are unable to assess vehicle for damage through caked mud, it's excessive! The $1,000 credit card hold will remain until the vehicle can be cleaned and assessed for damage. Repairs are charged at shop rate.
- Towing and Retrieval: Charged at shop rate plus late fee.
- Extra Fuel: First tank of fuel is included and enough for 7 hours of trail riding. Additional fuel is the renter's responsibility.
- Guided Group Tours and Corporate Outings: Please contact us if you would like to book large group outings.
- Other discounts: Due to high demand, we do not offer large group or other types of discounts at this time.
Reservation and Rental Agreement
- Rental Agreement: Renters and riders will be required to sign a Reservation and Rental Agreement prior to the start of the rental.
